as my kids are still young, they haven't sharpened their 'no way am i listening to/ watching THAT' skills yet. anything goes! foreign languages can be lilting & musical:: and they can be funny!! kids love to learn little phrases in other languages, and to poke gentle fun at the pronunciation of familiar words in an unfamiliar tongue.

i thought of this blog last night as i was listening to 'radio-canada':: and their show '275-allo':: http://www.radio-canada.ca/jeunesse/275allo/

it's one of the only call-in shows for kids that i've ever come across; every night they have a different topic, and the host is kind, generous and a good communicator. it has none of the 'hysteria' that some kids' stuff can adopt (to appeal? hmm.) it could be another resource for parents of young kids who are feeling their way around in a new language:: without 'teaching,' of course. the discovery that there are kids just across the border who speak an entirely different language - whoa!!! heavy!! ;-)
